Visual Storytelling in the Digital Age
Turin, July 4th to 29th, 2016
Through this intensive one-month, short course program developed by ICP-International Center of Photography, in collaboration with CAMERA and Leica Akademie Italy, students will learn all the steps necessary to make a visual story that will make impactful imagery. The Documentary Seminar will guide the student through each step in realizing their project idea that may ultimately incorporate multi media, audio and data visualization. Learning to research, to gain access, and subject trust in a sustainable way is key to any photographer’s success. Through intensive editing sessions and exercises, students will see their work improve—developing style and meaning in their photography. Upon completion, every student will have a strong body of work and be prepared for subsequent steps that can propel them to the next level as a professional documentary photographer.
Each student will receive individualized attention to learn digital workflow, audio, and multi media as well as a choice to take various elective workshops on Business Practices, New Media and Ethics. Students will learn to edit and sequence their work.
Faculty will include: Alison Morley, Karen Marshall, Bob Sacha, Saul Metnick and more. ICP Alumni will also contribute perspectives on working in today’s new media marketplace.
This is a full-time program offering classes and shooting every day including weekends. Students should be prepared to work full-time while enrolled in this program.

FINDING YOUR VISION: MILAN 2016
Milan, June 11th to 15th, 2016
Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris will be back at the Leica Akademie in Milan, after the success of last year’s masterclass, for a new, expanded and deeper 5 days masterclass aimed to finding your own unique vision of Milan by using the camera to explore the city in a direct, spontaneous way. Open to both serious amateurs and professionals alike, it is a workshop that will emphasize the development of your own personal way of seeing photographically. This workshop will also be about learning how to edit your work intuitively, and also include discussions about how to take your photography to the next level.
